Miriam Prandi
Italian cellist Miriam Prandi is recognised for the communicative intensity of her playing and for a rare artistic versatility, moving naturally between the solo, chamber and recital repertoire, and also appearing as a pianist.
In 2014 she won the overall First Prize at the Rahn Musikpreis in Zurich, awarded by a jury chaired by Sol Gabetta, and made her debut at the Tonhalle Zurich with Dvořák’s Cello Concerto.
She has appeared as soloist at Teatro alla Scala under Vladimir Fedoseyev and with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra NOSPR in Katowice under Michele Spotti.
In the 2024/25 season she toured Europe as soloist with MusicAeterna under Teodor Currentzis and stepped in for Misha Maisky in Dvořák’s Concerto with the Toscanini Philharmonic under Andrey Boreyko.
Her orchestral collaborations also include the Gstaad Festival Orchestra with Neeme Järvi, the Haydn Orchestra with Michele Mariotti, the Armenian Symphony Orchestra with Gianluca Marcianò and the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana with Donato Renzetti.
Formerly cellist of the delian::quartett, she has performed at major venues including the Berliner Philharmonie and Konzerthaus Vienna.
In January 2026 Fuga Libera/Outhere Music released her first solo album, Bach’s Six Cello Suites.
She performs on a Giovanni Grancino cello, Milan c.1712.
